So often we keep going around in the same circular patterns with our thoughts, our relationships and experiences. The same issues crop up over and over again making us think the world has gone mad. The madness we perceive outside continues until we realise that nothing can change until we do. This is the meaning of surrender; it’s a shift from fear to love.
Whatever we are experiencing is just a reflection of our inner process. Change needs to be an inside project for the reflection to alter. And it’s about awareness and perception, not other people’s, but our own. If you want a miracle, be prepared to shift your perception of everything.
So, how do you choose a new way to think?
First, you need to decide if your current thought processes are working for you. You need to decide if the reflected world is one you want to continually create.
Then you need to make space to become aware of yourself. Your guidance system is with you already. Everything can be simplified into emotion and feeling. How you feel is vitally important to deciphering your reality. In order to do this, you have to pause and listen. Your emotions are the fastest way to determine what needs to find a new pathway within your mind. I’d like to tell you it’s an easy way to be. But in the beginning, it’s exhausting allowing yourself to feel and be aware. Sorry, it’s a muscle and just like when you begin a new workout routine those muscles will ache. The alternative is to numb out but that’s what our world has been doing, and we really need a revolution of the ‘human’ kind right now.
Excavating your inner landscape requires unwavering honesty on your part, because sometimes what you discover about yourself won’t be pretty. But everything has a purpose and no matter how dark you go, you can always shift into light. More importantly, when we find honest compassion for our own follies we are better able to extend that compassion to the world. Miracles happen when we shift our inner perceptions and take responsibility for our reality.
