Whatever you are doing, just take a moment to pause. This wont take long at all.
Bring yourself into the room fully, bring yourself into this place. Settle into your seat, and relax your muscles, soften your sit-bones and thighs, I’m willing to bet you didn’t even know they were tight.
Breathe deeper than you have been, fill your chest so that it rises and your belly expands. Notice how the air feels inside your lungs. Soften into the breath, let it be what you notice even as you read these words.
Now, focus on the center of your chest. As you continue to breathe purposefully, play with the length of the breath, hold it in and let it go, find your natural rhythm. Let it be connected to the centre of your heart space.
Imagine at this moment there is a point of light right in the middle of your chest. If you can, let it be warm and glowing; this place pulses as your breathe in and out.
Imagine the light is spreading outward as you breathe in and out. Creeping gently through your cells, a fluidic warmth that permeates your entire chest, both the front and the back. As you breathe deep, let it spread down your arms and into your legs, working on any areas that feel resistant.
Continues breathing deeper than you normally do, letting your belly expand as the warmth from your chest envelopes your insides. It doesn’t take long to come into yourself. It doesn’t have to be difficult or a grand ceremony. No candles, no special moment set aside. Living life in an embodies way just takes a little practice and a willingness to have a mindful pause.
