Today I’m getting to know Lakshmi, she’s a new acquaintance and we’ll take our time over the next three weeks as I learn from her. I’ve entered a new Sadhana today, one I’ve felt sucked into without clear understanding of the ‘yes’ I’m agreeing to. Sometime those are the best lessons, when I allow myself to be funneled without thought…only time will tell.
Before becoming connected to Awakening Women last year for an on-line women’s gathering, I didn’t have intimate knowledge about Hinduism. I knew some of the basics, that they believe in one Supreme Being who is both immanent and transcendent. They believe in karma, which is the law of cause and effect where the individual creates their destiny through thoughts, words and deeds. And, they believe in reincarnation, evolving through many births until all ‘karmas’ have been sorted out. As Chameli Ardagh shares the stories of the Hindu Goddesses, I am riveted.
Each time I participate in a Sadhana with the Awakening Women team, I am presented with a new aspect of the Divine Feminine that I resonate strongly with, they are never limited to one religion and I find that fascinating.
This time it’s Lakshmi, who is the Goddess of beauty, wealth, fertility and fortune. Not knowing anything about her, I feel empty beginning this 21 day journey. A quick search tells me that she is the embodiment of the love from which devotion to God flows. She is the heart that is in each of us. Lakshmi is the personification of spiritual fulfillment and the embodiment of superior spiritual feminine energy. She is said to purify, empower and uplift the individual on their journey. Sounds like just what I need 🙂
This morning, I’m settling into the Inner Temple, sinking into the velvety softness of etheric comfort and leaning into the moment. I’m sitting in a place of open trust, without expectation, knowing the perfect lessons will be brought forth as I need them, my only job is to stay open and surrender.
