I’ve been using sound and vibration this morning by listening to a Johnathan Goldman CD, and it had me thinking about the healing nature of sound. Using sound in healing dates back to the great mystery schools because vibration carries power, as surely as words carry magic.
There were times in my past experience with energy work that I would spontaneously begin groaning to move blockages in a person. A little strange at first, but the urge to make sound was often hard to ignore. It was as though the groan was removing the static from a perfect radio station. This was not something I set out to do, nor was it something I was taught, rather prompted to by intuition. I have learned that it is a sound healing technique others use and is quite common.
It is my view that if you can groan you can tone, both are excellent ways to move energy, clear-up and set a healthier vibration. It’s an old practice, but a natural one and can be an excellent stress reliever.
Each chakra has a particular vibrational alignment,

Rather than getting caught up in the sound that each chakra responds to, why not just focus on the groaning?
To begin, sit comfortably, relax your body and let yourself make a sound from deep in your chest. Take a deep breath, open your mouth and allow the air out in a groan, if your timid make it a small sound, but make a noise.
Draw the sound out until there is no breath left, pause and feel your body.
Take another deep breath, and repeat.
Build the volume as you become comfortable, always drawing the sound out until there is no breath left.
The most amazing thing happens after you have done this lone enough, you will get to a place where you will no longer make a groaning sound. This is the time where you allow a tone to come out pure and clear. I’ve witness both men and women do this, and each time those who thought they couldn’t carry a note could sustain a tone with a beautiful vibration.
It anything, it just feels good to make some noise 🙂
